Should I use a refiner in the morning, or evening?
The choice is yours. Consistency is more important than timing, when it comes to refiners.
Pick a moment in your day, morning or night (never both), that feels most natural to you. The aim is to build an effective routine that you can maintain with ease.
If you opt for morning, a refiner will help to create a smooth and refined skin base prior to makeup application.
If you opt for evening, a refiner will support overnight repair and encourage PM products to work even harder.
How often should I use a refiner?
Faces unfamiliar with AHAs, BHAs, or PHAs (as the most common form of chemical exfoliants found within a refiner) are encouraged to gradually test the skin's tolerance with use every other day.
However, frequency ultimately depends on the formula. If you have a well-engineered product that is as powerful as it is gentle, you can incorporate a refiner into your routine daily.
The goal is never to exfoliate the skin aggressively, but to introduce a consistent and reliable source of skin renewal. A product that can support skin barrier health and boost radiance over an extended period of time.
How will I know if my refiner is working?
In the beginning, it's more about what you don't see: redness, dryness, flaking, irritation, sensitivity.
If any of these symptoms appear immediately after application, or within the first few days of use, put down the refiner. A damaged, aggravated skin barrier requires long-term repair. This is why we recommend you start slow and build on frequency of use. Product compatibility is key.
With four or more weeks of consistent use, you will notice: increased brightness, greater clarity, more even texture and tone.
